Developments | Education: Higher Education | Community College System of Southern Nevada

Swisher Garfield Traub Development was selected by the Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN) to be the master developer for a new 60 acre campus.   The project will be an academic urban village design concept to include 1.8 million sf of mixed-use development.   Partnering with the City of Las Vegas and the Bureau of Land Management to acquire the land, SGT’s role as master developer will be to lead the design, finance and construction of the 800 million dollar build-out over the next eight years.

Project components will include classroom, lab, office, student support services, lifestyle retail, private industry, faculty housing, hotel and a performing arts center. This mixed use environment will serve as a training center for students as they will work with private industry in an internship capacity.   Regional Transportation Center Park and Ride facilities will also be included for easy access to mass transit.   The academic urban village is being designed to be sustainable and will be an average of five-story mid-rise product type to be integrated into the rapidly growing northwest corridor of the Centennial Hills neighborhood.  Initial construction for phase I will begin in May 2007.  Phase I of the academic urban village is being designed by Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects and will be constructed by Penta Building Group.
